Preparing for Your Interview

What is a ĢƵ Allen interview like?

Our people are our greatest asset and our purpose is to empower them to change the world. We’re a company that believes in the power of potential. Above and beyond all the skills and experience you bring to our team, what we want to know most is who you are. What are you passionate about? What do you want to change in the world today? And, what motivates you to be successful? We look forward to learning more about your career aspirations and how you hope to further your career at ĢƵ Allen.

What sort of questions should I expect to answer?

Our questions encourage you to tell stories about yourself and show your approach to solving problems. Some examples include:

  • Describe the greatest challenge in your last job and how you addressed it.
  • Tell me about a time that you exhibited leadership
    qualities.
  • What is a project that you are most proud of and what was your role in it?
  • Tell me about a difficult technical challenge you’ve encountered and how you resolved it.

What is the best way to engage my interviewers?

We love people who are eager to help us change the world. Demonstrate your interest by preparing thoughtful questions for your interviewer. For example, what do you want to know about our culture, our learning and development programs, and other growth opportunities? Highlight the skills and passions that demonstrate the “real you.” This is your opportunity to develop a relationship with your interviewers and potential new teammates. You're also invited to connect with your interviewers on LinkedIn.

What can I expect in a virtual interview?

We use a live video interview platform, and nothing is recorded. This format allows us to deliver a flexible, convenient way for you to connect with us. You can participate remotely using a desktop or laptop computer, a tablet, or a smartphone. If your device has a camera, microphone and internet connection, you are set. We recommend that you test your technology and scout out a private spot for your chat.

Note: As part of the application process, you’re expected to be on camera during virtual interviews and assessments. We reserve the right to take your picture to verify your identity and prevent fraud.

I’m not used to being on video. What if I’m nervous? Will it impact my candidacy?

We’re all human and it’s totally normal to be nervous before and during an interview. Just be yourself. Smile, take deep breaths, and know that we want this to be a positive experience for you.
