This isn鈥檛 a one-size-fits-all market, so there wasn鈥檛 an overall winner in our current assessment. However, we identified several significant trends that can simplify the selection process.

For example, open-source models provide transparency and accountability but often need more initial engineering effort. They save costs by avoiding annual licensing fees, making them ideal for completing early evaluations and building a minimum viable product. Consider starting out with open-source tools to identify gaps and vulnerabilities, then look at commercial products for additional protection or specific deployment needs. One potential challenge with open-source options is their technical debt, which may create additional, long-term engineering costs to sustain.

• Derivative Classification: Incorporating or paraphrasing classified information into new material.
• Direct and Indirect Prompt Injection Attacks: Manipulating the LLM鈥檚 behavior through crafted prompts.
