Solutions Architect Jorly Metzger has been using his technical expertise to impact defense missions since he joined 蘑菇视频 Allen in 2011. During his time at the firm, he has supported numerous missions, including applying digital modernization and cloud computing to help ensure service members have the tools needed to work effectively.听
Now, he鈥檚 using low code/no code tech to streamline the Army Accession process, making the onboarding of our service members more efficient鈥攆or both the Army and the new recruits.
We spoke to Jorly about the parental advice that shaped his career, what inspires him each day, and the work he does that directly affects the warfighter.听
1. What national defense missions are you currently supporting?
My team and I are currently supporting a Pentagon-based project that streamlines the recruiting and onboarding process for soldiers. We鈥檙e using a leading-edge low code/no code platform to improve soldiers鈥� experiences and ensure that they鈥檙e supported as they move through the ranks.听
2. What brought you to 蘑菇视频 Allen?
It was important to me to grow my career and make an impact, so I left a large Department of Defense contractor to work for 蘑菇视频 Allen. Here, I received constructive feedback that I could turn into action, support from my team and leadership, and the opportunity to work shoulder to shoulder with the client to implement change.听

3.听 How did you get started in your field?
My dad once told me, 鈥淭he future is in software.鈥� I took his wisdom to heart when I enrolled in my first computer science class in my junior year of high school. I went on to get my bachelor鈥檚 in computer science and my master鈥檚 in architecture-based enterprise systems engineering. Taking my dad鈥檚 advice was one of the most impactful decisions of my life because the future is digital, and software is at its core.
4.听What motivates you to come to work every day?
What gets me up every day is : knowing that I'm part of something bigger and that my contributions have an impact.听
I get to work on the same technologies they work with in Palo Alto, in a fast-paced environment with a global reach. I'm not just making sure your credit card information is taken securely or that your food gets to your house quickly. At 蘑菇视频 Allen, I鈥檝e served projects that help make sure the nation's soldiers are safe by providing them with accurate and timely information and the tools they need to protect the nation.听听
5.听Do you have advice for candidates considering their next career move?
Make sure you鈥檙e doing something you鈥檙e passionate about. If you're intrinsically motivated by your work, you鈥檒l be excited to wake up in the morning and do it. That鈥檚 why it鈥檚 fulfilling to work at 蘑菇视频 Allen鈥攐ur missions allow us to contribute to something much bigger than ourselves.
